David Wolfert

David Wolfert: Musician & Composer

Since he got into the business at 18, David Wolfert has been a composer, arranger, songwriter, orchestrator, producer, and instrumentalist. He has composed music for over a thousand television and radio commercials, in addition to his extensive work in film, television, and the recording industry.

The records that hang in David's studio attest to the work he's done with some of music's greatest icons - Whitney Houston, Cher, Barbara Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Dolly Parton, and The Four Tops to name a few. He has written for, performed with, and produced a wide variety of recording artists, in every style imaginable. His latest song, Cruel, was co-written with Julio Iglesias, Jr. and appears on Julio's album, Terza Dimension, which is currently in release worldwide.

David's recent television work includes the theme and additional scoring to NBC's The Chris Matthews Show, music for the highly acclaimed PBS program Egg the Arts Show, the theme and library for Flashpoints, the new Bryant Gumbel show on PBS, and the theme and additional music for Generation Jets, a new cartoon. He has composed many promos for NBC Nightly News, Showtime, and the Discovery Channel. He has also written the theme for the Nickelodeon series, The Animorphs, and scored the Upfront presentations for the Discovery Channel and for NBC networks.

In the area of independent short films, features, and documentaries, David's most acclaimed musical pieces are for the short Speed for Thespians, which was nominated for an Oscar, and the recent Independent Spirits, which has received numerous film festival awards. Also recently completed is his score for the CNBC documentary on the fall of AOL. David has been nominated for a Grammy award, has won several CLIO, BMI, NSA, Billboard and Mobius awards.

David lives in New York with his wife and two children and serves on the Board of Directors of Songs of Love, a non-profit, charitable organization that composes original, personalized songs for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
